Siquijor Trip: A Majestic Paradise

As an anxious person, I tend to avoid things that will trigger my anxiety. But this didn't stop me from visiting one of the most fearful places in the Philippines (at least for my Mom) due to folklore.

On a rainy day of July, me and my bestfriend visited one of the most majestic places I've ever been to: Siquijor Island. Even before the ferry arrived in the port, I could already see (and jump) in the clear blue waters.

HOW TO GET TO SIQUIJOR

From Dumaguete airport, we rode a tricycle to the Ferry port (Php 60). We purchased a ticket to Siquijor for Php 140 each and Php 15 terminal fee.

WHERE TO STAY IN SIQUIJOR

We stayed at  a cozy room in a nipa hut at Tori's Backpackers Paradise for Php 583/night. From port, we rode a tricycle for Php250 per ride to the hostel. We also hired kuya driver to drive us around the island for the following day.

The room has a sliding door and a glass window overlooking the sea. It was super windy when we get there and the beach was stony (I don't know the term but it has a lot of stones) so we didn't get the chance to swim.

There were only a few guests with us that time so my anxiety was triggered a bit. Since there were no near karenderya in sight, we took our dinner and drinks from the bar, and we really had a great time.

PLACES TO VISIT IN SIQUIJOR

As mentioned, we hired the tricycle driver, who drove us to the hostel, to drive us around Siquijor island. Fee was Php 1000.

Old Balete Tree
Our first stop was the century old balete tree where we fed our feet's dry skin to the fishes. Entrance fee was Php 10, inclusive of the fish spa. There was also souvenir shops where I bought my voodoo doll key chain.

Fly Like a Witch
We went to a small cottage where we took this flying-with-a-broom photo. I won't show you the trick! You have to visit Siquijor to find out! *witch laugh*

Cambughay Falls
There were 3 falls in Cambughay and we explored them all with a guide.
