Garin Farm: Heaven on Earth

My 4th day in Iloilo as a solo traveler was dedicated for the Southern part, which includes a 3 hour travel to San Joaquin to visit Garin Farm.

How to get to Garin Farm

Ride a jeepney to San Joaquin (Php 67) and tell the driver to drop you off Garin Farm. You will see a signage anyway.

From Garin signage, ride a tricycle (Php50/ride) to Garin Farm. Since Garin farm is like a heaven on Earth, I happen to meet angels: strangers who were kind enough to let me join them for free.

Entrance fee was Php 150 each. We did not hire a cab to the pilgrimage as we wanted to enjoy the view (and yeah, we broke af).

We were greeted by the foul smell of animals, which is normal since it is a farm.

It was near noon when we get there so the sun was blazing. It adds to the challenge of climbing upstairs to the pilgrimage. Every rest stop, there were religious statues and quotes.

The view from upstairs was spectacular. I wanted to stare in awe for a while but the heat of the sun didn't want me to.

At the top, the place was blinding. It felt like heaven was rejecting me (just kidding). It was all white, too white, since the white paint was reflecting the blazing sun. The other visitors were finding shelter from the heat too.

After about an hour, we decided to go down to take lunch, which they also gave me for free. I told you they were angels!

NOTES:

  • Go to Garin Farm during the morning to avoid being toasted.
  • Wear comfortable clothes.
  • Unless your guts tells you they are safe and trustworthy, don't take rides from strangers like what I did (unless they give you free food. jk)
This adventure was part of my 5-day solo trip to Iloilo. Make sure you read it as well. Share your experience if you have been to Garin Farm before!
