National Book Store Binge Bazaar: Shopping Guide for Book-Geeks

DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post but (hello, Nanay Coring) if you wanna donate some books to me ooh why not?!

This was my first time going to a book sale of National Bookstore so I didn't know what to expect. For those of you who also want to know what to do before entering the haven of book-geeks, here are some tips.

National Bookstore Binge Bazaar 2018

1. CROWDED- I assumed it will be so I wasn't surprised. Though it's not like shopping for clothes since there are plenty of stocks and if you want to look for something that "fits you", you just have to read the back cover. Books are awesome. And book-geeks are gentle people: not bumping into fellow shoppers just to get what they wanted.

2. MORE FOREIGN BOOKS, LESS LOCAL- It was included in the poster but if you're not keen to details you will miss it because it's very small. Most of the books sold in the Binge Sale were imported books. There are some local ones too but only in 1 or 2 tables.

3. NO FAMOUS ONES- I'm not really sure about this because I only focused on the business books. But I didn't see famous/mainstream books there. You know like books of John Green, Paulo Coelho, Lang Leav. If you happened to find mainstream books on the binge sale kindly correct me.

4. NOT AS CHEAP AS BOOKSALE- I planned to spend maximum of P1000 but ended up with empty pocket (no regrets though). Having experience in sales I knew their strategy, fooling us that we would only spend 100-200 pesos but in reality it's 200-300 pesos. If you buy 275-peso worth of a book, you only get 25 pesos change for 300. Common sense but not as common if you are hypnotized by the sight of hard-bound temptation. But...

5. IT'S WORTH IT-
All of the books I bought are hard-bound and thick and I think they're worth 50% more than the price I got it. Also, they also looked new.
Books are never a waste of money. It's a gift you can pass on to the next generation (okay I'm getting sentimental).

WHAT'S NEXT?
On February 16-25 there will be a 24-hour Big Bad Wolf book sale on World Trade Center. It's the first in the Philippines and you have the chance to score 60-89% discount (I just read the poster, yes). See you there book-geeks.
