Quick Escape to Cagbalete Island, Quezon

Cagbalete Island

Since I miss the girls, I'm gonna share our trip together.

Working in a manufacturing plant is hard especially if it's operating for 24 hours. So it was a miracle for us QA's to travel together.

Last February, we travelled from Canlubang Laguna to Mauban port, Quezon Province via rented van. The plan was one of our friends will provide a boat (she's rich) to Cagbalete. But the weather that time was not good (wow adjective!) so the boat (or the man) didn't make it on time. We just rented a boat to save time.

Waiting makes us crazy

There were 9 of us (I was the only one without a partner #foreveralone) so we all contributed about 335 each. The trip lasted about an hour. The huge waves due to bad weather both scared and excited us. Good thing my anxiety and overthinking didn't interfere during our travel.

We just rented a space to pitch a tent since we woudn't stay overnight. Not a good idea but we didn't have a choice. The ladies' gotta work! We just enjoyed the day by playing volleyball (only them coz I was too weak), cooking our own food, and island hopping.

By the afternoon, we had to walk across the jungle, just kidding, it was just a talahiban, then passed a barrio to reach the port. During afternoon, the shore facing most resorts in the island go lowtide. Really low as if the level of the water during daytime (which is just knee-high) wasn't low enough.  It will be hard (or impossible) for the boats to sail through so we had to adjust.
We went island hopping to the famous sandbar and mangroves, then we went swimming in the deeper part of the sea (makes sense?). I'm not fond of the latter since I already experienced that a lot of times in Zambales. The sun was blazing hot that time and given our limited time, it seemed that my enjoyment was forced. Plus the fact that I was super sleepy. But when it comes to picture-taking, no sunshine is hot enough. LOL.

We went back around 4PM to get ready to leave since we had to go before the sunset. Thank goodness some riders offered us a free ride to the resort or else we had to walk again in the jungle. We hired them later on for a ride back to the port. When they said lowtide, it literally meant dry sand! Before, the water was just knee-length, during lowtide, there is no water. Also, during lowtide, you can walk to the famous bonsai tree in the middle of the sea (rhythm!) but we were too tired to even stand so we called it a day.
The trip was tiring and bitin but for 12-hrs-a-day-6-days-a-week workers like us, this quick escape is much needed. I'm gonna go back for sure, hopefully with these beautiful girls again.
